The teachings in the Bible are often confused just as they were in the Jewish religious leaders understanding when Jesus walked the earth. We need to recognise how the holy writings were misinterpreted by putting the teachings through 'the Jesus filter.' Jesus instructed His followers sometimes in ways that seems directly contradictory to the teachings held sacred in that time. Jesus exposed 'doctrines of men' and boldly stated the truth in their place.
